After the breakdown in Switzerland (turbocharger) and the associated expense, repair costs and broken nerves, we began to consider changing the car. The BMW now had over 200,000 km on the clock, and after the first year with Troll, the desire to travel was just beginning. What now?
We don't know if others feel the same way, but we find it hard to part with some material things, the car for example. Somehow it is part of the family.
The decision for a new tractor is not easy either, the only thing that was certain: it has to be white!
The subject of motorisation: the motto is still the same "the more the better", although we are among the slower drivers. We want a diesel engine. We were not fixated on one brand and looked at countless cars, test drove them and calculated costs. Opinions and advice are as varied as people are.
Shortly before making our decision, we looked at a VW Tiguan and found it to be not only chic but also a perfect fit for our Troll. Unfortunately, or shall we say sufficiently, the car has a 2L engine and 190 hp. The gut feeling screamed... YES!
Another plus point was the Trailer Assist system. We are really excited about how easy we will soon be able to park. At the CMT trade fair 2020, we also purchased a Mover. Installation at the beginning of March.

We decided against the foiling and will replace the idea with a Yupo foil (logo). The foil can be easily removed (no glue- no glue marks) and reused.
Another aspect why the foiling does not work on our Tiguan is: the foiling is only possible on painted surfaces. Our Tiguan, however, has a black plastic strip at the bottom.

We have been driving our Tiguan with the decorative adhesive strips for over a year now. The strips are an absolute eye-catcher! The tape is easy to apply, nothing tears, nothing frays. We are very satisfied with the strips. Whether hand washed or washed in a car wash, everything holds. The colour has not changed.
